I’m Kenneth Brody McCasland — a multifaceted fashion designer, 3D digital artist, and animator. Over the past eight years, my debut collections and designs have been worn by icons like Zendaya and Beyoncé, featured in the video game industry, and published in Vogue.
With over five years of professional experience and more than eight years in fashion design, I’ve held freelance and major design roles — all while building and publishing my namesake fashion brand. My skill set includes expert-level proficiency in CLO3D and other fashion design software, as well as patternmaking, 3D virtual design, trend analysis, brand development, product development, concept creation, graphic and logo design, textile design, asset organization and creation, animation, custom clothing/jewelry/accessories, video editing, social media content creation, complex garment simulations, 4K renderings, virtual 3D modeling, asset deliveries, and much more.
In 2023, I had the honor of joining the talented team at Muus Collective, a fashion-centric entertainment studio. I worked as the Digital Fashion Designer for the mobile game BELLEMINT. Over the next two years, I was responsible for bringing the brand to life through compelling 3D digital fashion designs and items. I worked closely with Muus Collective’s talented team to ensure that my creations seamlessly integrated into BELLEMINT, delivering an engaging and immersive user experience. My integral design role involved remote collaboration and real-time interactivity to produce hundreds of 3D fashion items and thousands of digital assets.
Born and raised in Southern California, I moved to San Francisco to pursue my educational goals. During my time at AAU, I was involved in the student-run fashion organization Beyond the Front Row. I served on the board of directors starting in 2017 and culminating in the summer of 2019. My involvement with Beyond the Front Row led to the production of the annual fashion event Runway Repurposed.
During my final year at the Academy of Art University, while producing and constructing my 2020 Senior Collection titled The Void, the world was hit with COVID-19. With no chance of a Graduate Spring Showcase, I took my entire collection into quarantine. By May of 2020, after 10 weeks of solitary work, I handed in my eight couture garments.
Immediately following this, I was featured in the November 2020 Issue of Vogue Hong Kong, The Class of 2020 by PAPER, the CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase 2020, and i-D/ARTSTHREAD GDGS2020.
Look Two of The Void was handpicked by Law Roach, published in Vogue Hong Kong’s November 2020 Issue, photographed by Djeneba Aduayom, and modeled by Zendaya.
My education has equipped me with an arsenal of tools that include, but are not limited to, CLO 3D Virtual Fashion, 3D Virtual Rendering, pattern drafting, draping, technical construction, millinery, accessories, fashion illustration, knitwear design, and software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Gerber, and CLO3D.
In 2020 I interned with fashion designer Edwin Mohney, assisting them on their line of eclectic and upcycled garments.
In 2022, I worked as a Freelance 3D Garment Designer with Beyond the Runway, where I produced virtual 3D garments for major fashion brands. This included creating high-quality renderings and digital assets. My skills for this role include expert knowledge of CLO3D, virtual pattern work, rendering texture, fabric simulation, custom avatars, lighting, animation, rigging, high-resolution stills, motion, and interactive turntable garments and products.
